Coming out with my Raw-ness

Well Its Sunday evening and having time to sit back and think has encouraged me to get back on here again.

I had someone comment, saying my blog was what came up when googling: (is that a word?) "raw food mormon". So after that, knowing that I plan on finishing a degree in holistic nutrition specializing in the raw food diet, I realized the blog shares a whole lot of NOTHING on raw foodism- I'm just going to start making up words :) I would like to be able to share any incites or places I consider good little nooks of knowledge so I have gone back and added links at the bottom of my blog. For me these sites really have the basics to inspire and teach when first starting out on a raw transformation. First and foremost I recommend comparing the Word of Wisdom to what the raw food diet actually is and gaining a testimony of it.

I have had many wonderful experiences on the raw food diet and I hope to eventually share as many as possible. (D&C 89:18-19) I say "had" because we are only about 40-50% raw right now. Also, I am no where near an expert in this area; I only have 6 mths experience as a raw foodie. I just know a good thing when I see it (taste it?) and I truly feel this is what Heavenly Father wants for my family and I. That being said- we are on the path back to 100% raw. We got off a bit after I had appendix prob's and I tend to lean toward doing what my body says and at that time my body said raw was repulsive. So in conclusion- I'm the primary food maker and we didn't do raw for a little while, lol. Well enough raw rambling- its a foreign language to those who don't know what raw is anyways. If that includes you take a look here

p.s.
Off topic a bit but-- I found the wiring I needed to upload pictures already in our house so I am inserting the pictures I intended to put in awhile ago, enjoy!

I found your blog by googling raw food mormon. I've been on this raw food diet for 10 days now 90% of the time. When I share my enthusiasm with others, they look at me strangely, so it's good to know there's other LDS members experimenting with this healthy way of eating.

I don't know if I have problems with the adrenal glands, but I certainly have the symptoms of low energy. I'm a mother of two little ones... I've been feeling so tired, but now with the raw foods have those Power days you talk about...

I truly think that this is Adam and Eve's diet...

Greetings! I also found your blog by googling raw vegan and lds. I am so excited to see others out there! Well, I am a newbie...three days raw, but I have been holisic for about eight years. I am getting ready to help my husband and two sons go raw. It's going to be an adventure! I have wondered how in the world I am going to mix church and our new way of eating. (Not that we were unhealthy eaters before...) How will we do ward socials with all the junk food? How will we do all the treats that the teachers give out on Sunday? How do you mix the two very different food worlds? Most of the people I tell just think I'm nuts! I am so excited though!!!!
By the way, congratulations on your new baby!!!

I typed in, "raw food LDS" I feel so strange now that I am trying this! I feel like it should make sense to people of our faith, but doesn't. I am glad that there are others out there doing the same thing.

I am a rawfoodist Mormon! I love this way of life. I have 7 home educated children and all but 2 have chosen 100% raw. My hubby has been the last to come aboard, but is getting there. He recently started a blog called "kicking and screaming! my road to a raw food diet." or something like that. It's been an interesting road, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. To me, the scriptures and modern revelation are very clear on what to eat and I've always found it odd that members are so funny about food, even in light of this. I would love to be in touch with anyone interested in this lifestyle. It's more than just food, but a way of wholistic living. To me, my body is a temple and putting the foods God created for me is another way I can honor and magnify Him. Everything is vibration and a raw food diet is the highest vibration I can put inside myself. Anyway.... I can go on and on, but I was excited to see other members considering or living a raw and living diet. I can be contacted at vanweys@charter.net if anyone would like encouragement, ideas or support.
