P90X: Day 1 of 90 recap: Workout

Okay, so I may or may not be this thorough in the future when it comes to tracking progress... But I figured it would be a good start :)

So yesterday Kevin came home during his lunch break so we could do our workout together. Since Kevin didn't have time to finish the workout we decided that lunch break wouldn't be the best time for us to be doing the workout...we are going for evening, when he gets home and before dinner...which means I need to get crackin' on dinner real soon so that it will be ready as soon as we are done working out!

So yesterday was the Core Synergistics workout for day one. One of the great things about P90X is that they have a variety of workouts which: 1. makes me happy, satisfying my weird ever need for constant variety and 2. it creates "muscle confusion", helping you steer clear of plateau in your fitness progress.

I have to say that I'd forgotten how workouts can trick you. You'd think after the pain of up and doing a 2 mile race without hitting the pavement would be enough reminder...but I'm a sucker for jumping into sports and athletics without thinking. So after the first about 35 minutes of the workout I was reminded that, yeah, working out is actually a challenge. And reminded again, when I forced my sore body out of bed at 4 to change Laney girl's diapee, and again all day today...'kay enough about how I sore I am, and not thinking about how hard today's workout will be b/c of it...

I actually liked the first workout...I think core work will end up being a fave. And since Kevin didn't get to finish the workout yesterday, we did the Ab Ripper X . It's only 16 minutes.....of grueling ab rippage! So yeah...the sorest part of my body is my...surprise, surprise, CORE!

I guess the best part of being sore is that it means progress... woot woot for soreness.

Oh- and I will be posting start pics. I can't wait 'till I can compare back and see the progress.
