Alane's first b-day

Yesterday was my sweet girl's first b-day.

Alane is such a girl. When we were shopping for her birthday she picked out a dress and necklace. She's funny because she will go sit in front of her closet and start crying and motioning up at her clothes. This means she wants to get all dressed up.

When there are girls around she targets right in. She loves to sit in the ladies' laps and chat and admire jewelry, clothes and hair (lol, seriously).

She also enjoys peek-a-boo, shopping, and playing in the bathtub.

While I may be an avid nature lover, Alane is not so sure about it. Around animals-- she will eventually (usually) warm up. The other day Kevin took Alane to sit in the big green grass patch in our community. Alane was not happy about it. She starting making her upset/worried/pouty face and wanted to get off!

She's so polite, just like her older brother. She frequently says thank you for anything she's given. (Though she's been known to get very upset if she thinks she's getting something and doesn't)

Oh, I can't believe she's already one. This year has been a long one and I know she was meant to be in our family at this time. She has been such a trooper, with a mother going through schizophrenia and the recovery afterward and also being patient while mommy does classwork as well. Even through all that she's dealt with this year she's stayed a sweet loving little girl and I'm so glad she came to our family.
